Mary Ann’s Christmas Reindeers

Award Winning North East artist Mary Ann Rogers, has launched a new collection of paintings and cards featuring herds of Cairngorm Reindeer in time for Christmas. Also new are a range of cushions featuring cockerels, hares, pigs and foxhounds all in Mary Ann’s distinctive style.

The Reindeer Collection was painted earlier this year at the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre where Mary Ann spent a week observing these creatures in their natural landscape. The paintings join Mary Ann’s earlier works depicting the antics of Northumberland’s wildlife which she observes daily in her garden or from the floor-to-ceiling windows of her studio.

The cushions which retail at £30 or £28 are expected to be gracing many a sofa this Christmas. There is also a series of new sketchbooks in 5 designs and a 2011 calendar featuring new work from this year’s collections. A new mug featuring a mallard drake will join the existing mugs, aprons, shopping and duffle bags.

Commenting on the collection, Mary Ann says:”My new range is a way of providing a unique gift inspired by our natural wildlife. They are very affordable and there is something to suit everyone in the family. I am delighted that the Reindeer Paintings have proved so popular they haven’t stayed on the walls very long and the paintings also feature on a series of cards which are perfect for Christmas.”

The Open Weekends take place at Leam Studio, West Woodburn, NE48 2SE. Along with a welcoming glass of mulled wine and a mince pie there will be paintings, cards and gifts and plenty of retail opportunities with chocolate, jewellery, cupcakes, knitted items and slate bird feeders also on sale.
