Rural PR Specialists Announce Creation of First Student Placement

Glendale PR and Marketing welcome Elodie Straker to the team as she completes her year in industry

Wooler based Glendale PR and Marketing has welcomed Elodie Straker to the company as an PR and Marketing Assistant.  The appointment marks the first time Glendale PR have offered yearlong internships for students looking to gain experience in Agricultural promotions and marketing.

From Plantation Farm near Belford, Elodie is currently at Harper Adams University in her third year studying Business Management and Marketing.  Her work at Glendale PR provides her with essential experience to help her reach her goals of working in marketing or events management.elodie-straker

At Glendale PR and Marketing,  Elodie will take on a large role in creating and managing social media content for clients including the NSA North Sheep, Glendale Agricultural Society and The Northumbria Music Festival.

Speaking of her appointment, Elodie said: “I am delighted to have secured a placement at Glendale PR.  They have a really strong presence in the area and I feel I will be able to gain huge amounts of experience during my time with them.”

Since they launched almost twenty years ago Wooler based Glendale PR and Marketing have been responsible for the publicity and marketing of many Northumberland and Borders Businesses, a number which are now market leaders.  These include long-term relationships with brand leaders such as Doddington Dairy Ice Cream and BEDMAX shavings for horses.

The company also specialises in event management and product launches for rural companies, as well as organisations and groups that work in the sector.  Some of the more recent projects which the company has been involved with, include, NSA North Sheep, Flodden 1513, The Glendale Agricultural Society, and Northumbrian Quality Feeds.

Managing Director Barbara Huddart explained her decision to introduce a student placement position, saying: “As a company we feel it is incredibly important to act as a mentor to the next generation and help provide meaningful work experience to encourage enthusiastic young people to enter the industry.  We are delighted that Elodie will be joining us for her placement and wish her every success in the coming year.”
