Glendale Shows X-Factor

The Cheviots will be alive with the sound of music at this year’s Glendale Show on Monday 27th of August with home grown musical talent Louise Devlin gracing the stage. Born in Northumberland the 21 year old nanny and singer is excited for her show debut in just a week’s time.

With a voice that is full of soul and class Louise will be singing a variety of tunes from a number of eras. Eta James, Aretha Franklin and Adele are her favourites so we can expect an impressive performance from this talented young singer.

Louise lives just up the road from the showground and has been in Wooler since the age of twelve. She says she has been singing her entire life but it took a bit of persuasion to get her on a stage just a few years ago. Pushing aside her fears Louise was persuaded to enter a Newcastle talent quest and after overcoming her stage fright she has not looked back.

A true Northumbrian, Louise enjoys the countryside and says show day in Glendale is one of the best in the year.

Aside from singing Louise enjoys snowboarding and raising pet lambs in the spring,

“This is probably one of the biggest events I will have ever sung at. I will be singing a real mixture of my favourite songs and ones I know the Glendale Show crowd will enjoy. ”

Louise joins a number of other Northumberland based acts on the bandstand from 10am on show day including Bluegrass Plus, Heads on the Block and Northumberland Fayre.

“The bandstand is always a popular attraction and really adds to the vibe of the show” comments Rachael Smith, Show Secretary

“We are excited to have Louise Devlin joining us also, she is a Wooler girl and we are all about showcasing home grown talent. This year we are proud to present a real variety on the bandstand with performers coming from across Northumberland from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Blyth”.

Louise will be singing from 3.35pm on the bandstand and with a crowd expected of over 15,000 she is assured of a large audience. This year the bandstand will be alternating with performances from new attraction this year The Sheep Show, sponsored by Ford & Etal Estates. The crowds are in for a day full of entertainment and excitement from singers and song writers to Nobby the Norfolk Horn taking centre stage.
