MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS  ASSISTANT.

We are a small rural Marketing and PR Agency and we currently have a vacancy for an energetic and enthusiastic Marketing and Communications Assistant to support our team. This is an opportunity where you will be interacting with clients, professionals and colleagues on a daily basis and handling aspects of PR, marketing and social media. The position is based in our office in Wooler.


Key responsibilities:

To handle the overall secretarial duties and assist the team to deliver excellent service, marketing and media support to clients.

The role will include:

  • Producing letters and reports in Word with speed and accuracy
  • Data entry in Excel, collating and writing up results
  • The monitoring, management and filing of emails and their attachments
  • Proof reading for accuracy, content and interpretation of the content to produce documents
  • Website management
  • Assist in content creation and delivery of content for clients’ social media channels (knowledge of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram is vital)
  • Provide support for marketing events and exhibitions as required
  • Help to deliver internal communication projects
  • Assisting in the briefing, creation and delivery of press releases
  • Helping to create and deliver targeted marketing campaigns
  • Participation and contribution in internal marketing/communications meetings
  • Market research
  • To be involved in all aspects of advertising including collection of content, costing, booking, design and placement of adverts across a range of media
  • Assist in the preparation and release of direct mail campaigns
  • Telephone sales to the media
  • Answer telephone calls in a pleasant and helpful manner, screen telephone calls and handle them when appropriate
  • Be up to date with client issues and to brief clients appropriately
  • Devising and maintaining office systems

The applicant must be confident using Microsoft Office programmes including Excel. Knowledge of both rural industries and the local area would be extremely useful. Please note that the above is a non-exhaustive list and may change to reflect the needs of the business. This is a full time position Monday to Friday 9.00am until 5.00pm.

Discretion

  • Must be discreet given the role involves handling sometimes sensitive and confidential information.

ICT competent

  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel.
  • Ability to update wordpress websites and use of dotmailer system.
  • Knowledge of digital dictation and time recording systems an advantage.
  • Must have accomplished keyboard skills combined with accuracy and an eye for detail.
  • Must be competent in Word, Outlook and Excel with the ability to adapt to new software and systems.

Organisational and time management skills

  • Must be exceptionally organised and capable of prioritising a large number of tasks.
  • Have a pleasant and confident telephone and office manner.
  • Must be able to stay calm under pressure.
  • Working to tight deadlines.
  • Be able to delegate.
