Andrew Walton, well-known local auctioneer, farmer and previous Head of the Livestock Section at the Glendale Show, has recently been appointed Chairman of the Glendale Agricultural Society [GAS]. Though GAS is one of the smallest Agricultural societies in the UK, it is a force to be reckoned with, both locally and nationally in its role in providing education and championing rural affairs – so the Chairman’s role is no mere figurehead.
